12 hours tuition over 2 days, 10.30 - 16.30 with a lunch break (lunch included in course price)
About the course
Learn to use the patterned rollers and applicators from The Painted House, as seen on the Great Interior Design Challenge. Learn to use natural chalk based paints to print a variety of patterns on fabric, wallpaper or wrapping paper
print your own fabric to take home to make into a cushion cover, blind, bag or even clothes
make some distinctive wrapping paper for presents or covering stylish storage boxes
make your own wallpaper for a focus area of your home
design and create your own lampshade
You will also be able to buy your own rollers and applicators to use and take home on the day if you wish
A two day weekend course from with a short lunch break.
Classes run with a maximum of 5 students per class.
Course does not include the cost of all materials and a small charge of £5 is payable on the day to cover miscellaneous materials. Fabrics and plain wallpapers for printing will be charged by the metre, or you can bring your own on the day. You can contact Pauline for more information about suitable materials
The work room is well equipped, with chalk paint, applicators and a range of different rollers avalable for use. You will also be able to buy your own rollers and applicators to take home on the day if you wish.
Damside has comfortable break out areas where you can eat your lunch, and a kitchen area where coffee and teas are available
About your tutor
Pauline Keenoy is a practicing upholstery conservator and interior furnisher who has a wealth of experience. With more than 20 years teaching experience of beginners to advanced level, teaching adult education, City and Guilds, National and Higher National diploma and degree level students. She has also co-ordinated interior decorating courses with a range of related specialist subjects such as decorative paint techniques, soft furnishing, colour theory, visual communication and the history of art and design. She has trained in Pattern roller techniques with The Painted House and is an accredited trainer and stockist for their products.

The studio is on the first floor of Damside Mill, a mill building dating back to early 1800s. It does not have disabled access, but we are happy to help in anyway we can to assist people around the building. Guide and Hearing dogs are most welcome in all public areas of the building.
